UPDATE: "DALLY IN THE ALLEY" A complete success
Over the weekend I personally had a amazing time attending Dally in the Alley a music festival event held in my hometown of Detroit,Michigan. According, to DallyintheAlley.com the construction of such an event begin in the 70's when neighbors in the Cass Corridor area of the city consisting of struggling musician, artist, students and the marginally employed came together to fight against rising rents and the call for demolition of dilapidated buildings within the area.
Dally in the Alley celebrated its 40th anniversary and I must mention again that it was a complete success and wonderful event. With over 500 local Detroit merchandise vendors local Detroiters' were able to find tons of exciting grabs. Not only was the merchandise vendors in abundance but also local food vendors such as Marios, Delectable, Detroit Fish & Shrimp, Union Street and a host of others. Also, most importantly the music scene was of no shortage consisting of 4 performance stages the Garden stage, Forest Stage, MCB stage and finally the Alley stage. All four stages collectively consisted of over 30 local Detroit bands giving us music genres from hip hop to rock on down to techno music.
The Streets and alleys within the Cass Corridor were filled to capacity with metro and local Detroiters all coming together for a good cause and having a local good time. I would recommend from here on out that Detroiters continue to support and attend such an event. I personally must say as a Detroiter myself I'm a bit ashamed that I just found out about such an event. However I will be at the next one with bells on.
