InCaseYouMissedIt: Last night hip hop mogul Jay Z graced Detroit, Michigan with his "4:44 Tour" inside the cities newest downtown development Little Caesars Arena. As expected Jay Z performed various hits from his latest album entitled 4:44. "The Story of OJ" and "Family Feud" were just a few newest hits he rapped that were then blinded perfectly with classic HOV hits such as " Hard Knock Life", "No church in the wild" and "Big Pimpin" just to name a few. I would estimate that Jay hit the stage just a little past 9:30pm and rocked the stage until just a little past 11pm.
The stage presence that Jay z delivered that night was no short excellent as he dressed humbled but yet very stylish. I believe the artist did about three outfit changes all in similar taste and polished. The actual concert set up and visual artistry situated in the middle of the arena and multiple big screens all displaying Jay in different angles. These screens were also used to display the artists personal home videos revealing his infamous wife Beyoncé , Blue Ivy, and even at one point Kanye West.
It also relevant to note that Jay Z is very much so WOKE as the black culture would say. He delivered various powerful messages to the black community and passive but yet aggressive messages visually. That however should be of no surprise as this was done in Jay Z's previous tour with that of Kanye West entitled "watch the Throne". The city of Detroit's whose who was at the event and I believe damn near the entire Detroit black community came out. For once for such a main stream artist the demographic of the concert was African American.
HIP HOP & Ladies : Dave East Hits Detroit for the first time
Last night, Concertshortie had the pleasure of attending rapper Dave East private listening party which was hosted by 102.7 radio station and held at a undisclosed location in the Downtown Detroit area. The event was very personable with at the most fifty people in attendance. At 8:00p Mr. East hit the stage looking tall, caramel, and fine as all hell (ladies his sex appeal is very very very wonderful like seriously though lol). The New York rapper, held a brief Q&A in which he answered maybe four to five questions. Questions such as is the artist single (of course the ladies wanted to know), whose more lyrical Biggie, Nas, or Jay, and how is life as a father. Shortly after Q&A the artist begin his performance of about 4 songs from his newest album entitles Paranoia: A True Story with features such as Chris Brown. East, demanded the crowd get up and personal by approaching the stage and he even let the ladies have a few appropriate touches I’d say lol. He ended the night with thanking his audience and by simply being a SEXY HUMAN being.
LAS VEGAS GUNMAN KILLS AND WOUND MULTIPLES DURING COUNTRY MUSIC CONCERT
Photo via CNN
First, it was the deadly shooting at the Ariana Grande concert that was held overseas in Manchester, UK in which 20 were gunned down and now tragedy via a concert shooting has made its way to the United States in Las Vegas, NV. Details at the moment are sketchy but it is said that 50 people have been killed and 100’s have been injured as a gun man (now known as 64 year old, Stephan Paddock) located on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Hotel unloaded a hail of bullets on about 30,000 country music concert goers. Country Music star Jason L. Dean was performing during Harvest 91 Festival and moments from ending the festival when he paused like many others and proceeded to run off stage while fans scattered in all direction and took cover as they finally realized it was an automatic weapon firing upon them. This event will forever change the dynamics of concerts here in the US. With peoples safety always being in question when attending concerts. Will people feel safe? Why did the gun man choose the genre of a concert? Will people continue to attend concerts in the festival style manner? Big concerts such as Coachella, the Meadows Music festival, The Rolling Loud Festival , and so many more are held in the same makeup style. As a hardcore concert goer I myself is very concerned about the dynamics of concerts from here on out both here in my own country and abroad. My thoughts and prayers are with those in Las Vegas and those families that have been greatly affected.
I'm sure all of my Detroiters would like to know that Tee Grizzley tickets are currently selling for $20 on Groupon for balcony seats. Tee Grizzley, starting September 21,2017 will be kicking off his "Ain't it a blessing" tour hosting about 15 cities starting in Oakland California and ending in Chicago, Illinois.
Over the past weekend in Queens, New York the turnip and excitement was real as The Meadows Music and Arts festival took off in action on Friday September 15, 201 and continuing thru the weekend until Sunday September 17,2017. Big name artist headlined such as Jay Z and Red Hot Chili Peppers and a host of other artist took to the stage like Nas, Migos, Future, LL Cool J, Erykah Badu, Nicki Minaj, Tory Lanez, Big Boi from Outkast and a host of others. Jay Z made a rememberable moment when he dedicated or of his hit songs "Story of O.J. " to Colin Kaepernick and the late Dick McGregor. Hip hop artist Future, surprised the fans with an appearance from Nicki Minaj and Tory Lanez did what he do best indulge in the road literally and create the hypest concert atmosphere ever. All in all it seems as though the concert was a complete success which is of no surprise with such names.
Septemper of last year in Detroit, MI before Hip Hop Kanye West proclaimed Ill Concertshortie and friends had the pleasure of actually seeing Ye perform during his "LIFE OF PABLO TOUR". Many concert ticket holders after this concert and maybe two more weren't as fortunate as Kanye went on what many called an outrageous rant about various topics. Topics ranging from fashion to racism to even Beyoncé, however I myself am a huge Kanye fan so I'm go leave this issue alone lol. But back to swag I wore my typical what I would call Kanye styled fashion. Considering, olive is usually the IT color during fall I wore an olive bomber with an olive sweater tied around the waist (I call that my Cali swag anything around the waist) and paired it off with some olive boots. Underneath all the olive I simply wore black so that the olicw could pop and I finished it with a brown Gucci cross body bag.
