Hip Hop Artists Dominates NYFW via
Philipp Plein Runway Show
If your not quite high fashion savvy like myself then your probably wondering who is Philipp Plein and where the hell did he come from. Normally, I personally wouldn't blog about New York's Fashion Week (NYFW) but considering the amount of hip hop the was incorporated within Pleins runway fashion show it was a must that I cover such an event.
Philipp Plein is a Munich, Germany native who has been in the game for over fifteen years and he shows no signs of stopping now. Plein launched his company in 1998 and surprisingly he did not start off in clothing fashion but rather designing furniture. According to Philipp Plein website (world.philipp-plein.com) in the year 2000 Plein introduced his furniture home collection, followed by his the launch of his fashion collection in 2004, accessories collect in 2006, a women's collection in 2010, and finally but not least a juniors collection in 2012.
It seems as though Philipp Plein started incorporating hip hop into his runway shows beginning in 2013 with the performance of Iggy Azalea. Thereafter, artist such as Angel Haze, Snoop Dogg, Azalia Banks, Tyga and now this past weekend he added a flock of hip hop artist to the fashion runway roster. It seems as though if you weren't in attendance then you've missed one of the best hip hop runway concerts of the year. Big names such as Nicki Minaj, Future, RaeSremmurd, Yo Gotti, Future and Tayanna Taylor took the stage this year in a full out concert vibe performance. Songs such as 'Rake it Up' and "Mask Off" took to the speakers as the performers gave their all and the model strutted their high end fashions on down the runway. Me personally I cant wait for next seasons fashions just to see what Plein has in stored next.
